Why does it matter?

This is an inherited cactus that I didn’t particularly like and it is the healthiest living thing on my small balcony. For a while I thought about not watering it to free up its pot, but ugly and unwanted as it is, I still feel like I need to keep it going in its small space. Over the years I’ve come to appreciate its resilience when so many others succumb to the bugs, the wind, the pollution, the seasons; perhaps it’s not so ugly after all.
