Why does it matter?

I bought these earrings in Lisbon, Portugal as a present to myself. It was 28th of November, my birthday, and I was with a group of artists working on an exhibition that was opening that night. I felt overwhelmed with the amount of people and communication and I snuck out to have a few hours for myself on my birthday. I walked the streets of Lisbon in search of a birthday gift and I stumbled upon a vintage shop which was really pricey. I found a see through glass bowl near the cashier, containing loads of deadstock earrings from Italy from the 70s. Even though I only wore these earrings the day I bought them, I really love looking at them as they are a beautiful object but also a reminder to a birthday spent alone in Lisbon.
